China Construction Bank Corporation (CCB) is one of the Big Four banks in China. It operates in three principal business segments: corporate banking, personal banking, and treasury operations. The company serves over 340 million retail and corporate customers through about 14,900 branches and outlets nationwide and overseas branches in Luxembourg, Hong Kong, Singapore, Frankfurt, Johannesburg, Tokyo, Seoul, Sydney and other countries. In 2009, CCB opened New York Branch and a subsidiary in London. In 2014, China Construction Bank launched four subsidiaries: the Toronto branch, the New Zealand subsidiary, the Macau branch and the Brisbane branch. The Bank was listed on Hong Kong Stock Exchange and Shanghai Stock Exchange in October 2005 and September 2007, respectively. As of April 2017, the market capitalization of CCB reached approximately US$200 billion, ranking 5th among listed banks in the world. The history of the CCB dates back to 1954 when the Peoples Construction Bank of China was established. It was renamed to China Construction Bank in 1996. China's government owns about 58% of CCB. As of September 2016, CCB had total assets of CNY 20.5 trillion, gross loans of CNY 11.5 trillion and customer deposits of CNY 15.3 trillion.
