Bank of India (BoI) was established on September 7, 1906 in Mumbai. It was under private ownership and control till July 1969 when it was nationalized along with 13 other banks. BoI is one of India's leading banks with total revenue of approximately US$7 billion. The company operates over 5,100 domestic branches (including 271 specialized branches) and approximately 6,900 ATMs spread over all states. The Bank has a presence in 22 countries, with a network of 29 branches, 5 subsidiaries, 4 representative offices and 1 joint venture. It has offices in key financial centers including London, New York, Paris, Tokyo, Hong-Kong and Singapore. Bank of India established new subsidiaries in New Zealand, Uganda and Botswana in 2011, 2012, and 2013, respectively. The international business is responsible for over 18.0% of Bank's assets. As of September 30, 2017, the company had consolidated total assets of INR 6.282 trillion (US$96 billion) and deposits of INR 5.437 trillion (US$83 billion). Dinabandhu Mohapatra has been the CEO of Bank of India since May 5, 2017.
