Resona Holdings, Inc is one of the seven largest banking groups in Japan with market capitalization of about ¥1.4 trillion. It operates through over 1,450 domestic offices including 833 offices in Kanto region and 586 offices in Kansai region. The Group’s main operating units are Resona Bank, Saitama Resona Bank, and Kinki Osaka Bank. The company was established in December 2001 as Daiwa Bank Holdings which a result of the consolidation of Daiwa Bank, Kinki Osaka Bank, and Nara Bank. After acquiring Asahi Bank in 2002, the company changed its name to Resona Holdings, Inc. As of March 31, 2017, it had consolidated assets of ¥ 48.456 trillion (US$362 billion), deposits of ¥ 40.676 trillion and employed over 16,500 people.
