Banco Santander (Brasil) S.A. (NYSE: BSBR, BM&FBOVESPA: SANB11) is the largest division of Spanish bank Santander in Latin America. With more than 30 million customers, it is the sixth largest bank in the country in terms of total assets. It operates in all segments of financial market through a network of about 2,250 full service branches, 1,170 mini-branches and approximately 13,800 ATMs, primarily in Brazil's southern and southeastern regions, with a major presence in the states of São Paulo and Rio Grande do Sul. Qatar Investment Authority, the sovereign wealth fund of the State of Qatar, launched a secondary public offering of its American depositary shares of Banco Santander (Brasil). The fund holds 5.5% of the total outstanding shares of Banco Santander Brasil and intends to sell about 40% of its position. The offering will be underwritten by Credit Suisse, BofA Merrill Lynch, and Santander Investment Securities.
