AMEX Bank of Canada (Banque Amex du Canada) is the issuer of American Express cards. With over 3,000 employees in 13 cities, the Bank offers personal and small business cards, corporate cards, gift cards, investment savings accounts, term loans, guaranteed investment certificates (GICs), small business and global business travel solutions as well as travel insurance, air trip insurance, merchant services, reward programs, Amex online banking and other services. American Express opened its first office in Canada in 1853 and began operations as a bank in 1990. American Express received the SQM Award for Highest Customer Satisfaction in the Credit Card Industry in Canada. As at March 31, 2017, AMEX Bank of Canada had C$4.2 billion in total assets.
