HSBC Bank Canada, established in 1981, is an indirectly wholly-owned subsidiary of HSBC Holdings plc. The company provides a wide range of financial products and services to individuals, SMEs, corporates, government and institutional clients, and private investors. It operates through three segments: Commercial Banking, Retail Banking and Wealth Management and Global Banking and Markets. HSBC in Canada offers current and savings accounts, personal and car loans, mortgages, credit and debit cards, wealth management, estate and financial planning, cash management, international trade, treasury solutions, capital markets and advisory services as well as bilateral and syndicate lending, leveraged and acquisition finance, money market instruments and other services. HSBC is the largest foreign-owned bank in Canada. With over 5,000 employees, it has around 150 branches and offices in all provinces except PEI. The head office is located at 885 West Georgia Street, Vancouver and executive offices for Eastern Canada are located in Toronto. HSBC Canada is a member of the Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation, Canadian Bankers Association (CBA), MasterCard Inc and interbank networks including Interac Association, Cirrus Network and Accel. As of October 31, 2017, HSBC Bank Canada had total assets of C$93.234 billion, customer deposits of C$55.229 billion and loans of C$48.767 billion.
