La Banque Postale is a state-owned French bank organised around 3 segments: retail banking, insurance, and asset management. It focuses on retail banking and provides a wide range of products and services including current and savings accounts, term accounts, securities accounts, automatic savings plans and Debit/ATM cards. Its lending portfolio includes consumer and mortgage loans, car, motorcycle, yacht, boat and camper loans, student loans, bridge loans as well as credit cards, gift cards and gift certificates. It also offers retirement plans, life insurance, complementary health insurance (CHI), pet health insurance (PHI), long-term care insurance (loss of independence), car and home insurance, personal accident insurance (PAI), funeral and death Insurance, legal protection insurance (LPI) as well as repatriation insurance for people from Maghreb (Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco). Additionally, it offers investments, wealth planning solutions, online and mobile banking. With over 28,000 employees, it serves about 11 million active customers through the largest local network with over 17,000 retail outlets including more than 10,300 post offices. The number of high-net-worth customers is approximately 600,000. The Bank was formed in January 2006 and operates as a subsidiary of La Poste, the mail service of France. La Poste is the second largest employer in the country after the government. As of June 30, 2017, La Banque Postale had €233 billion in total assets, €168 billion in total loans and €182 billion in customer deposits. LBPAM (La Banque Postale Asset Management) is the fourth largest asset manager in France with AUM of €190 billion.
