Irish Bank Resolution Corporation Limited (IBRC) was a government owned banking entity. It was formed in July 2011 following the merger of Anglo Irish Bank Corporation Limited and Irish Nationwide Building Society (INBS). The Bank served personal, corporate and institutional customers primarily in Ireland, the UK and the US. It provided personal and corporate deposit accounts, loans, mortgages, wealth management as well as insurance services including home insurance, mortgage payment insurance and term assurance. Since nationalization, the Bank has been focused on asset recovery. IBRC was primarily reliant on deposits from central banks and monetary authorities for funding. As of June 30, 2012, IBRC had total assets of €53.2 billion, customer loans of €15.9 billion and employed about 1,030 people. As of February 2013, the company is in liquidation.
