Credito Emiliano S.p.A. (Gruppo Credem, Credem Banca) is a medium sized Italian banking group. It was founded in 1910 by a group of entrepreneurs in Reggio Emilia. The company’s distribution network includes Credembanca branches, corporate centres, CredemPoints, financial stores Banca Euromobiliare as well as about 850 financial advisors. With over 6,000 employees, Credem offers a wide range of corporate and retail banking services including current and savings accounts, personal loans, mortgages, debit and credit cards, investments, mutual funds as well as auto and home insurance, online banking, leasing, factoring, wealth management and other services. Credito Emiliano SpA is 77% owned by Credito Emiliano Holding SpA. The Maramotti family indirectly controls about 16.5% of voting rights in the latter. The Maramotti family owns Max Mara Fashion Group which was established in 1951 by Achille Maramotti. Max Mara had more than 2,300 stores in 105 countries. Credem has been listed on the Italian stock exchange since October 1997. As of March 31, 2017, the company had total assets of EUR 39.772 billion, customer deposits of EUR 20.577 billion and loans to customers of EUR 22.988 billion.
