Bankpime (Banco de la Pequeña y Mediana Empresa) was one of Catalan banks with assets size of over EUR 500 million and about 20 branches. It was founded in Barcelona in 1978 and served small and medium-sized businesses. It also provided banking services for individuals as well as offered insurance packages to cover the most common risks associated with modern lifestyles. The company was part of Barcelona Stock Exchange as well as Latibex, the international market for Latin-American securities valued in euros. CaixaBank, S.A. acquired Bankpime’s banking and fund management business for EUR 16 million in September 2011.
