The Co-operative Bank Limited (or Co-op Bank) was established in 1928 and is headquartered in Wellington, New Zealand.
It provides a broad array of financial products and services through over 30 locations across the country. It offers personal and small business accounts, term deposits, Fisher Funds' KiwiSaver products, personal loans, home loans, vehicle loans, debt consolidation loans, online banking as well as life and health insurance, home insurance, vehicle insurance, travel insurance, contents insurance, loan protection insurance and loan repayment insurance. The company was formerly known as PSIS (Public Service Investment Society) and changed its name to The Co-operative Bank on 26 October 2011. PSIS Life and PSIS PIE Term Fund also changed their names to Co-operative Life and Co-operative PIE Term Fund. The Co-operative Bank serves 147,000 customer-shareholders and employs over 500 people. In 2016, Co-operative Bank won Canstar Blue Most Satisfied Customers Award for the third time. As of March 31, 2016, it had total assets of NZD 2.041 billion, deposits of NZD 1.79 billion and total loans of NZD 1.803 billion including NZD 1.671 billion in residential mortgage loans.
