Kiwibank Limited is a wholly owned subsidiary of New Zealand Post (NZP). With over 1,000 employees, the Bank provides a wide range of financial services to personal and business customers through the New Zealand Post retail network of 260 PostShops (post offices). It offers current and savings accounts, term deposits, home loans, vehicle and personal loans, credit and debit cards, investments, merchant services, internet and mobile banking as well as insurance products including house insurance, contents insurance, vehicle insurance, life & living insurance, home loan insurance, credit card insurance and travel insurance. It is also offers online, mobile and phone banking, international money transfers, foreign exchange and foreign currency accounts. Kiwibank was launched on 4 May 2001 and serves about 800,000 customers. As of September 30, 2016, it had total assets of NZ$19.540 billion, customer deposits of NZ$14.9 billion and loans of NZ$16.981 billion.
