National Bank of New Zealand (NBNZ or National Bank) was one of the largest banks in the country and now operates as a part of ANZ Group. The Bank provides a broad array of banking products and services for personal and business customers. It offers savings and everyday accounts, personal and home loans, rural and business loans, credit cards, insurance, investments, online banking, private banking and more. In October 2003, ANZ Group bought National Bank from Britain's Lloyds TSB for A$4.915 billion and retained both the ANZ and National Bank brands and branch networks. The new company had operated under the name ANZ National Bank until 2012. In September 2012 it was announced that the company’s legal name would become ANZ Bank New Zealand Limited. National Bank of New Zealand was established in 1872.
