NYSE MKT LLC

NYSE MKT LLC is the New York Stock Exchange's market for small-cap businesses. It has lower listing requirements that the NYSE. NYSE MKT was formerly known as the American Stock Exchange (AMEX). AMEX was the third largest stock exchange by trading volume in the United States after the NYSE and NASDAQ.

In October 2008, the American Stock Exchange was acquired by NYSE Euronext. In 2009, AMEX changed its name to NYSE Amex Equities. In May 2012, NYSE Amex Equities was renamed to NYSE MKT LLC.
NYSE MKT LLC operates as a division of Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. (ICE).
