Bank of America is the largest bank in the US with assets of nearly $2.28 trillion and total deposits of about $1 trillion. Bank of America serves over 57 million retail and small business customers through a network of over 6,000 domestic banking offices and 18,500 ATMs. JPMorgan Chase is the second-largest bank in the US by assets and the largest by market capitalization.
Note: Bank of America is no longer the largest US bank by assets. As of September 30, 2011, Bank of America had $2.22 trillion in total assets and JPMorgan Chase had about $2.29 trillion.
